In any event, he has viewed my various cooking exploits, disasters, kitchen makeovers with every bit of understanding a dog can give a human. Let me clarify that statement without going too far afield. You see, Louie is a Golden Retriever – probably the smartest dog known to man and I suspect it was probably a Golden who introduced himself to man with “hey get a fig leaf dude your scaring me.” More on Golden’s as a breed later, je vous assure! Coming back to Louie as the food critic, you see either way he wins. He wins if my meal is a burnt concoction, if the yellow mustard drips off the hot dog onto the floor, the grease pools its way off the counter or off the table. I hope you were able to follow that little bit of tortuous meandering but it’s an importance to this story.
Anyway the point of this little story is that Louie has always wanted to go to France pour un petit séjour in August, of course, so perhaps with the help of my culinary petit detour, meandering through various cook books he will enjoy at least a taste of France.
